What this course is designed to do.

Four principles guide every lesson in the Starter Pack.

Turn screen time into making
Each lesson ends with a small creative output your child built — a card, a game, a story, or a mini tool.
Keep AI use parent-guided
The course recommends a parent-approved AI assistant. Parents set up tools and guide safe use throughout.
Make every lesson visible
No hidden interactions. Parents can sit alongside and see exactly what the AI produces and what the child chooses.
Keep setup simple
No account to create, no app to install, no coding knowledge needed. Files save locally on the family computer.

Clear safety boundaries from the start.

These boundaries are visible throughout every lesson and this page.

  • No child account required
  • No upload required
  • No public posting
  • No student community
  • No homework submission
  • No private debugging support
  • No live classes
  • No grading
  • Parent-approved AI assistant recommended for all lessons

What children should not share.

Children are guided throughout each lesson to use fictional or general ideas, not private information. The Safe AI Rule is introduced in Lesson 1 and reinforced in every lesson.

Child-facing rule
Use ideas, not secrets.

For example: “a robot helper” instead of a real person's name. “a school bag” instead of a specific school.

Parents do not need to be coders.

Younger learners may need help reading instructions, copying prompts, saving HTML files, or opening a file in a browser. Here is how parents guide each lesson.

Choose a parent-approved AI assistant
Parents select and set up the AI tool. The course works with any assistant the family is comfortable with.
Help copy prompts
Younger learners may need help reading and copying longer prompts into the AI assistant.
Review safe boundaries
Read the Safe AI Rule with your child before each lesson. Remind them: use ideas, not secrets.
Help save files locally
The parent guide includes step-by-step Mac and Windows save-as instructions for each HTML output.
Help open HTML files
Double-clicking an HTML file opens it in a browser. No upload, no server, no account needed.
Keep projects private and local
All project files stay on the family computer. Nothing is uploaded, published, or submitted online.

Which AI tool does it use?

The course is designed around a parent-approved AI assistant rather than one required tool. No specific AI product is required to complete any lesson.

Families should choose an AI assistant they are already comfortable with and supervise all AI interactions. Parents set up tools, review outputs, and guide children on safe use.

Why no specific tool?
AI tools change quickly. A product designed around one tool becomes outdated or unavailable. This approach lets families use what works for them today and in the future.
Parent AI setup guide
1
Choose a parent-approved AI assistant
Select an assistant you have reviewed and are comfortable with as a family.
2
Stay near during AI interactions
Sit alongside your child when they copy prompts and review AI output together.
3
Review every output before saving
Check that the AI response is appropriate before saving a file or continuing.
4
Use the Safe AI Rule
Remind your child: share ideas, not private details. No real name, school, or location.

What if the AI output is wrong?

The course treats testing, simplifying, and repair prompts as a normal part of learning — not a failure.

A first version that needs repair is expected. Each lesson includes troubleshooting guidance and repair prompts for common AI output issues.

Ask AI to simplify the output
Ask AI to remove private details
Ask AI to make it age-appropriate
Ask AI to return one complete local HTML file
Ask a parent to review before saving
Keep the first version small — fix before expanding
